In-Home Support was established in 1993 and since its inception, has been Catholic Charities’ cornerstone service to the elderly. This program is licensed by the Kansas Department of Health and the Environment as a Home Health Agency in order to keep elderly clients independent and in their own home for as long as is safe and possible. To promote clients’ independence and well-being outside of an institution, In-Home Support supplies clients’ with a range of services from personal care tasks, to household chores, and engaging the client in mental stimulation.
To date in Fiscal Year 2010, more than 190 unduplicated clients were served, mainly from the Wyandotte and Johnson County areas. The individuals served are the elderly, financially vulnerable and can be suffering from mental or physical handicaps that limit their ability to care for themselves.
“My mom’s In-Home Support Caregiver has been a Godsend. She came to us in a very difficult time in our lives and has been nothing short of wonderful. I thank you for sending her to me.”
