In-Home Support has been Catholic Charities’ cornerstone service to the elderly since its inception in 1993. This program is licensed by the Kansas Department of Health and the Environment as a Home Health Agency in order to keep elderly clients independent and in their own home for as long as is safe and possible. To promote clients’ independence and well-being outside of an institution, In-Home Support supplies clients with a range of services including bathing assistance, light housekeeping, meal preparation and respite/sitter service.
The In-Home Support program generally serves 200-300 clients each year in Johnson and Wyandotte counties. The individuals served are the elderly, financially vulnerable and may be suffering from mental or physical handicaps that limit their ability to care for themselves.
“My mom’s In-Home Support Caregiver has been a Godsend. She came to us in a very difficult time in our lives and has been nothing short of wonderful. I thank you for sending her to me.”
