Agency Purpose and Service Delivery:
Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas provides administrative and fundraising support for Catholic Community Services, Inc., a health and human services agency providing services for people of all faiths in 21 counties of Northeast Kansas.
In living the gospel of Christ and recognizing the dignity of all people, the mission of Catholic Charities is to serve those in need with compassion and competence; advocate for social justice; encourage the Church community and other people of good will to share in these efforts.
Catholic Charities serves, employs, and is supported by people of all faiths. There are six pillars of hope in which efforts are focused for meaningful impact. These include:
- Professional Health Care -Preserve dignity for the sick and dying. Care for sick youngsters, adults and elderly that postpones or eliminates the need for hospitalization and nursing home care
- Counseling -Promote positive and well-balanced life styles by providing professional mental health counseling for children, families and individuals
- Family Support Centers -Eliminate immediate concerns for families who seek food and shelter. Additional ongoing case management is available that will permanently reduce the need for financial assistance for rent, utility bills or other necessities.
- Child & Family Service- Ensure children live in secure families
- Refugee & Migrant Services- Assisting families and individuals that flee their home country in fear of their lives.
- Early Care & Education -Provide quality early education for young at-risk children so they enter school eager to learn.
