Catholic Charities operates four Family Support Centers providing a safety net for families in crisis. Those served are often in crisis because of hunger, homelessness, utility cutoff, lack of medicine, and other threat to the family's health and safety.
In addition, Catholic Charities seeks to end the cycle of poverty by providing life skills education, job and budgeting training, parenting education and case management. By promoting self-sufficiency, Catholic Charities makes a long-term difference in the lives of those in need.
Emergency Assistance may include:
Groceries from one of four food pantries
Rent and utility assistance to prevent homelessness
Prescription medicine vouchers
Air-conditioners, fans and heaters
Gasoline, bus tokens or transportation vouchers
School supplies, Christmas toys and holiday food baskets
Case management, training and other interventions
