More than $135,000! That was the amount raised for Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas by 180 golfers on Monday, May 12 during the Annual Zarda Brothers Golf Classic. The tournament was held at the Shawnee Golf and Country Club and began with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. The event included lunch, a post-tournament reception and dinner, live auction and awards.

The live auction included the Fund-A-Need Auction, with proceeds benefiting a designated program. This year, TurnStyles's Pleasant Dreams initiative was the beneficiary of funds raised. The nearly $15,000 raised will provide mattresses for families in crisis.

“It was a beautiful day,” says executive director Jan Lewis. “We had a bit of wind, but that didn't deter our participants from golfing for Catholic Charities. And we especially thank the nearly 30 volunteers who enabled us to hold such a successful and fun event.”
